Natalie Grieves

Natalie grieves her friend’s news
The cells have spread, now days are few
A silent nod acknowledges she heard
She leaves the room without a word

Chorus:
Nothing turns out the way that you think
Sometimes walk is fly, sometimes swim is sink
Sometimes tears don’t show in the obvious way
Sometimes there’s nothing else to say

Natalie grieves her mom’s despair
Closing down, shutting out those who care
She’d rather die than take a chance and live
Natalie has no more to give

chorus

Natalie grieves for love now gone
Connections lost, she tries to move on
But sadness creeps back now and then
She starts the spiral once again

chorus
