Founded in 2002, the Tunesmith music series brings together four singer/songwriters in performances designed to build community. The show goes “in the round”: each performer plays a song in turn, through a rotation. The performers also work up collaborative group numbers ahead of time – this is what gives the show its unique warmth and energy.

The camaraderie that develops as the women get to know each other during rehearsals translates to a friendly, attentive atmosphere on stage. Plus, the quality of the full arrangements surprises even the women who play with bands. Even after the shows are over, the bonds forged through shared music remain.

Tunesmith has found a new home at the fabulous Jon Sims Center for the Performing Arts. Please join us as we grow!

Think of [Tunesmith] as a ghetto Lilith Fair without the big names and the main stage – this is more like that smaller side stage that people keep crowding around where gutsy women strum their guitars, singing their hearts out and telling it like it is.
